Specifications

Academic performance will be given low priority consideration in the selection process. Preference may be given to students with lower GPAs.

Preference may be given to applicants who provide a reference from a current member of the West Gateway Coalition (WGC) Board of Directors that discusses the applicants' participation in WGC activities.

Written Prompt

Each CFNIL scholarship is created with a specific purpose in mind. As you complete the application, the system automatically matches you with every scholarship for which you are eligible and will present you with a specific written prompt for each. You're encouraged to craft a unique response to each prompt to show the reviewers why you're the best candidate for that scholarship.

Scholarship Background and Intent

The West Gateway Coalition is a diverse and active neighborhood association on Rockford's west side. The intent of this scholarship is to support a student who loves their community and will have an easier time pursuing higher education with this additional support. Preference will be given to students with a drive to succeed, not necessarily the student with the highest academic achievement.
