Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must
- Be a graduate of or current high school senior at Guilford High School or Mendota Township High School.
- Intend to pursue a vocational career.
- Demonstrate financial need.
Specifications
Academic performance will be given moderate consideration in the selection process.
For the purposes of this scholarship, vocational career is defined as a specialized occupation that requires hands-on skills training, rather than a four-year college degree. Examples may include automotive repair, building trades, hospitality management, CNAs, dental hygiene, or machining.

Scholarship Background and Intent
Susan Munson Gilmore was born in Mendota, Illinois and graduated from Mendota High School and the University of Illinois. She began her teaching career in 1966 and taught Home Economics at Guilford High School. She had two children, Margaret and Tom, and enriched the lives of those around her.
